Read MoreCouncil to “Dispose of” Village Youth Centre
Our former Ruddington Youth and Community Centre has now officially been put up for sale by owners Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). This substantial building on The Green was most recently a fitness centre run by Project Body UK – the organisation selected by the County Council to take over the running of the former Young People’s Centre in 2014 when spending cuts meant that NCC could no longer afford to run it themselves. If given the go-ahead it would mean the erection of a brand new state-of-the-art building for use of as a pharmacy – filling in the gap between the existing house and the back of Ruddington Library – plus the conversion of one room of the old property to a…

Ruddington residents can breathe a sigh of relief – for now – after Rushcliffe Borough Council rejected plans to build 175 new homes on our Green Belt north of Asher Lane. The proposals were lodged by land owners Space Foods Ltd back in January after a previous application for 250 houses on the same site was withdrawn just over two years earlier. In the subsequent public consultation about the development (see map below) 655 people objected to the plans with only 2 supporting them. ALL the documents relating to this application can be found >>HERE<< and you can read the background >>HERE<<.…
