There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village. Three crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue raced to the scene following the report of a fire on Fairham Close at 4.26pm – which quickly set fire to “multiple” sheds and outbuildings before firefighters could arrive to tackle the flames {Nottinghamshire Live photo above}. Cars Vandalised at Elms Park

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a number of cars were deliberately damaged outside properties along Elms Park. Furious home owners on the Ruddington estate found long scratch marks had appeared on their vehicles yesterday {1st April}. Incident at The Red Heart

Patrons enjoying a pleasant Saturday night out at a Ruddington pub found themselves surrounded by police and emergency services! Officers sped to The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street at around 9.20pm, and cordoned off the road, after a glass bottle was believed to have been thrown at a man in a fight – which left him nursing a neck wound. An ambulance also attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering. He has since been discharged.…

Vandals Strike at Ruddington Farm

A clear-up operation is underway following more mindless vandalism in our village – this time causing serious environmental pollution at a farm south of Rushcliffe Country Park. Traders on Ruddington’s High Street have continued to mop up and assess the damage today after yesterday’s torrential rain which flooded many of their premises. Deluge Hits Ruddington!

Severe thunderstorms sweeping across the region, bringing with them violent, torrential rain, have caused flash flooding in our village centre along with other residential streets in Ruddington. The heaviest rain began just after 5pm – when many drains were simply unable to cope with the massive deluge.
