A brand new fund to develop one of Nottinghamshire’s leading heritage attractions has been launched in our village today (Friday 9th July). ‘The Forward Fund’ aims to provide new visitor facilities, including a new station building at ‘The Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre’ in Ruddington. Thefts From Cars and Burglaries Increase Village Crime Rate

After a post-lockdown ‘spike’ in April, then a ‘quieter’ month in May, June again saw an increase in Ruddington crimes reported to Rushcliffe Police. Statistics just released show there were fifteen incidents logged by officers for our village during last month – which is 50% more than in the month before. As detailed below – in the latest figures supplied to us by our PCSO, Sherrylee Sampson – four of these offences were thefts from motor vehicles whilst three were burglaries – types of incident which had not been reported during May.…

Ruddington Trio’s Fundraising Fortnight

This weekend, three employees from a Ruddington firm are beginning the challenge of walking the Pennine Way in just 14 days – in aid of a local children’s hospice. The trio, who all work at Quotient Sciences on Mere Way, are taking on the 268 mile trek to raise money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People in Loughborough. If you’re trying to reduce the amount of landfill you generate on our increasingly polluted and wasteful planet, you may be pleased to hear of a new trial taking place at Nottinghamshire recycling centres. Juice cartons and Tetra Paks cannot be placed into Rushcliffe Borough Council‘s ‘blue’ bins and so villagers have to travel elsewhere to recycle them – otherwise just throw them away with the rest of our household waste. Charity Shop Will Not Reopen

It’s been confirmed that Ruddington’s newest charity shop – which only opened its doors in March 2018 before being forced to cease trading due to the pandemic – will remain shut permanently. COVID-19 Outbreak Hits Ruddington Schools

The head teachers of both our village schools have confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been detected among their pupils. After a positive COVID-19 test result last week from a Year 4 student from St Peter’s Junior School on Ashworth Avenue, seventeen others from the same year group have also since tested positive for the virus, including a member of staff.
