Ruddington Man Hospitalised By Reported Assault

Police investigations are continuing after an incident last night in our village which left a man needing hospital treatment. Emergency services were called to an address in Leys Court, Ruddington, at 9.21pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 12th October) after reports of an assault. Police tell us that the victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital, where he remains. However, his injures are not believed to be life threatening. Rushcliffe Police have just released their Ruddington crime statistics for last month. The figures show that only eight incidents were reported to them from our village via 101 and online from 1st March to 31st March 2022. As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington last night when a police chase ended up in a village centre cul-de-sac. An eye witness reported to RUDDINGTON.info that an unmarked police car followed a vehicle into St Peter’s Crescent, but the driver didn’t realise it was a dead end. Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a vehicle was followed into Shaw Street before the driver stopped, got out and spoke to the officer. Ruddington crime figures for last month just revealed by Rushcliffe Police show a spike in thefts, burglaries and items stolen from motor vehicles in our village – though without any criminal damage recorded this time around. It seems the various building sites around Ruddington at the moment are presenting new opportunities for criminals. Rushcliffe Police are reassuring householders they’ve increased their presence in Ruddington in the wake of a spate of criminal activity during the night in our village. Officers confirm several recent incidents this week – concerning interference with vehicles and burglary – mainly between 1.00am and 3.00am.
