Staff from our Ruddington chemist’s are finally getting to do their big walk in aid of a leading cancer charity this weekend – exactly a year later than they’d originally planned it. After it was postponed in 2021, due to continuing COVID-19 concerns, five employees from Evans Pharmacy on Charles Street are taking part in the ‘Peak District Mighty Hike 2022’ this Sunday, July 24th*. It’s a 13 mile trek starting at Darley Moor and concluding at the Biggin Village Playing Fields. They’ll be taking in some beautiful Derbyshire scenery along the way…

Thousands Raised During Village Open Gardens

Organisers of this month’s ‘Ruddington Open Gardens’ weekend have revealed the event was a great success – securing almost £4,500 for their two chosen charities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the usually biennial was last held in 2018, but it returned even bigger and better on 2nd & 3rd July 2022. New Rules for Ruddington Dog Walkers

Village residents who exercise their four legged friends in public places now need to be careful not to ‘fall foul’ of new regulations. Under amended rules which came into force today (Friday 8th July 2022) all dog owners/walkers in Rushcliffe must now carry a bag or have other means to pick up dog waste after their pet whenever out and about – otherwise face a possible £100 fine if unable to produce one on request. After all the excitement of Ruddington’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at the beginning of June, there’s another, big weekend event taking place all over our village at the start of next month. With surprisingly little ‘fanfare’ this year, Ruddington’s much loved annual beer, cider, gin, food and music festival is back – running from today (Thursday 9th) until Sunday (12th June 2022), starting each day at noon. The popular, four-day, village event usually takes place each year following the second Bank Holiday in May. However, in 2020 ‘RuddFest’ was cancelled altogether due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then delayed by the Coronavirus until August last year.
