New Owner at The Cottage

After a few months in transition, we can confirm that Ruddington’s Country Cottage Hotel is now officially in new hands. Former staff member Sue Martin is the new owner and director – after completing the purchase from Julie and Andrew Sturt on October 25th. Throughout the process it’s been ‘business as usual’ for Sue, General Manager Linda and their team. The former Boots employee actually only branched out into hospitality in later life, after raising her children. You may be surprised to hear that there are now over 182,000 plug-in electric vehicles registered in the UK – and they’re becoming an increasingly common sight here in Ruddington, too, with dozens of drivers in our village having already made the switch from petrol or diesel. Ruddington Farmers’ Market Seeks Stallholders

Another new initiative to attract shoppers into our village centre – aimed at both residents and visitors – will be trialled early in the New Year. Now organisers are looking for local traders interested in having a stall. ‘Residents Only’ Parking Plans Cause Controversy

A landmark consultation on proposals to make the majority of two Ruddington village centre streets ‘Residents Only’ parking during Monday to Saturday daytimes ends this Wednesday (November 6th). The Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) plans (which we reported upon last month) have certainly caused some controversy! Sunday November 11th 2018 commemorates 100 years since the end of World War One. New Village Centre Parking Restrictions Proposed

The issue of finding somewhere to park in Ruddington for visitors, local residents and workers is being addressed in new plans by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). It follows growing complaints from shoppers and traders about the lack of daytime parking spaces in our village centre.
