Nottinghamshire Police have launched an appeal for information following the theft of a trailer in Ruddington on Wednesday. A 2003 registered black and silver two tone Mitsubishi L200 Animal pick-up – similar to the vehicle shown below – was spotted stealing the trailer from a building site at Loughborough Road on Wednesday March 11th at around 6.00pm. The same vehicle was also seen the day before at about 2.45pm in East Leake attempting to steal a caravan from Manor Farm Meadow. Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a distraction burglary in our village. It’s after a man targeted a vulnerable woman on Dunblane Road in Ruddington and stole money from her. The incident happened on Wednesday (26 February 2020) at around 6.45pm. Village businesses are being alerted to another spate of attempts to spend counterfeit Scottish £20 notes in Ruddington. The warning’s gone out after “two lads” tried to make purchases today at village centre shops including The Co-Op, Sshokwave Bikes and Philo’s Espresso Bar & Eatery. Nottinghamshire Police say a 40-year-old man has been arrested during an early morning raid in our village on suspicion of the possession of a firearm. A man who was arrested and charged by Rushcliffe Police in connection with two incidents separated by just ten minutes at our two Ruddington food stores last October has been sent to prison for two and a half years. 44 year-old Keith McLachlan, who admitted robbery, attempted robbery and having a bladed article, was jailed for his offences at Nottingham Crown Court.
