After an appeal by Rushcliffe Borough Council, a popular Ruddington Facebook group, which offers information and advice for village parents, has pledged to join in with this year’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’. Traffic In The Village

Ruddington’s traffic problems are always a controversial subject. Long standing gripes such as continuing to allow parking on Dutton’s Hill were supplemented last year with outrage caused by the unexpected permission for 175 new houses off Asher Lane – possibly leading to traffic lights on High Street. Most recently we’ve seen the controversial approval of residents-only parking for most of Charles Street and Parkyns Street during village shopping hours. New Police & Fire Service Drones

There’s soon to be another ‘Eye in the Sky’ in the fight against crime – which can also be used when tackling major fires. Ruddington Pétanque Piste Opens

Our village has a brand new leisure facility! It’s a dedicated area to play a game of Pétanque, otherwise known as ‘French Boules’, and was officially opened yesterday (Sunday 31st March). It’s one of the ideas which was consulted upon with residents by the Ruddington Village Plan group. Over a two year period the whole village was asked what they’d like to see in Ruddington. Three Arrested After Ruddington Fight

Three men have been arrested after police officers attended a report of a fight in Ruddington. Two men, aged 42 and 46, and two women, aged 42 and 39, were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with injuries. The 42-year-old man suffered a fractured jaw, cheekbone and eye socket in the assault in Easthorpe Street at around 11.55pm yesterday (Friday 29th March). Spring Mindfulness in Ruddington

Ruddington mindfulness teacher Jakki Pritchard is set to run a Spring Mindfulness FREE ‘taster session’ followed by another eight week course in the Old Chapel at the Framework Knitters’ Museum. She started running her ‘Exercise Mindfulness’ sessions in our village in 2017 year to give locals easy access to what she describes as “an enlightening and life enhancing way to manage our own health and wellbeing”.
