Rushcliffe Police say Saturday’s easing of ‘lockdown’ restrictions – meaning Ruddington’s numerous pubs and other hospitality venues could reopen their premises – did not create any major issues for its officers. New Drone Team Launches

This week saw the first use of state-of-the-art ‘Eye in the Sky’ technology by Rushcliffe Police – leading almost immediately to two suspected criminals being caught. Concerns on Cashpoint Crime

Rushcliffe Police are asking people to be especially vigilant at the moment after recent incidents where ATMs were attacked in the early hours of the morning. Ruddington has three 24-hour cashpoints around the village, and officers say: “If you are passing any cash machines please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Police using the 999 system. There’s a warning that numerous householders in Ruddington have being targeted by a telephone scam over the past few days. The automated hoax message informs you that there has been an attempted transaction of £600 on your bank card. There’s soon to be another ‘Eye in the Sky’ in the fight against crime – which can also be used when tackling major fires. Fuel Thefts Dominate August Crime Stats

Rushcliffe Police report that, but for the continuing problems of drive-offs from Ruddington Service Station, last month would have been a very quiet month indeed for crime in our village. The figures are revealed in the Force’s statistics for August, just released. Out of just eleven reported offences during last month in Ruddington, five of them were motorists driving off from the Loughborough Road filling station without making payment.
