Rushcliffe Borough Council’s “Local Plan” reaches a very important stage this Thursday, with a decision on whether it will move to the final “consultation” phase. The publication draft of the Local Plan Part 2 is due to be discussed at their Full Council meeting on April 26th. A special presentation is taking place in the Education Centre at Rushcliffe Country Park this morning after our local Wildlife Watch Group scooped a national award! Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust‘s Ruddington activities for 8 to 13 year-olds topped entries from across the country to win them the title of “Wildlife Watch Group of the Year”. If you’re a keen runner but thought you’d missed out on taking part in this year’s Rushcliffe 10k & Fun Run there’s good news – you haven’t! Mobile Mast Causes Further Disruption

Ruddington’s drivers and bus users are being warned to brace themselves for more delays on Wilford Road as new roadworks requiring temporary traffic lights begin there TODAY (Thursday 23rd November). Following last week’s important public meeting on the future of Ruddington’s Green Belt in St Peter’s Rooms, Ruddington Parish Council has just published its own views – objecting to TWO of the proposed housing sites and also to the increased allocation of homes for our village. This is in response to Rushcliffe Borough Council‘s Local Plan Part 2 consultation which now earmarks Ruddington for 410 new houses – 64% more properties than the 250 first mooted.
