Rushcliffe’s 5k Parkrun Returns

Ruddington welcomed the return of its weekly 5k Parkrun for adults this morning (Saturday 24th July) after an unprecedented sixteen month gap. It was suspended back in March 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic so participants today were clearly keen to get their running shoes and high-vis back on! Whilst Rushcliffe Junior Parkrun had already resumed on Sunday mornings, for 4 to 10 year-olds, in April, Parkrun UK decided to wait for a further lifting of Coronavirus restrictions before restarting the timed run for the grown-ups on Saturday mornings. Rescheduled 2018 Rushcliffe Run

If you’re a keen runner but thought you’d missed out on taking part in this year’s Rushcliffe 10k & Fun Run there’s good news – you haven’t! Last Sunday’s event was postponed for safety reasons due to the heavy snow and icy conditions – and has been rescheduled for Sunday 25th March. 2018 Rushcliffe Run Opens for Entries

If you’re a keen runner, you may like to know that entries for next year’s Rushcliffe 10k, Fun Run – and a new 5k option – are now open! The 2018 event in Ruddington’s Country Park will be on Sunday March 4th. This year it’s being organised and promoted by Perfect Motion Sports Marketing – who’ve previously coordinated the Sunrise 5k Series across the region, the Mansfield 10k and the Bandana Run in Bramcote Park. Funds raised will support Cerebral Palsy Sport as the official race charity.
