Helping Survivors of Domestic Abuse

A free training course is being held this week in Ruddington to help our community support survivors of domestic violence. It’s one of a series of similar sessions across Rushcliffe and is taking place at 6pm on Friday 25th February in St Peter’s Rooms. The course is open to anyone who works or volunteers in retail premises, a school, place of worship, hospitality or healthcare setting. Businesses in Ruddington are weighing up the likely implications of new measures announced this weekend by the Prime Minister to try to stop a worrying COVID-19 variant spreading in Britain. Night at the Museum

Those attending the official re-opening of Ruddington’s famous Framework Knitters’ Museum this week got to see it in a different light…. the dark! It’s been confirmed that the former Sainsbury’s Convenience Store on Dutton’s Hill – most famously the historic home of Grice’s Electricals for over a century before that – will be reopening as a SPAR franchise after all. Charity Shop Will Not Reopen

It’s been confirmed that Ruddington’s newest charity shop – which only opened its doors in March 2018 before being forced to cease trading due to the pandemic – will remain shut permanently. It seems that plans to bring a SPAR Convenience Store to Dutton’s Hill in Ruddington have been abandoned at the eleventh hour. Agents for the Dutch retailer announced previously that a new franchise would open at 12-14 Wilford Road on March 3rd 2021 – swiftly filling the gap left by our Sainsbury’s Local, which had closed just a month before.
