Surgery Opening Hours Cuts Planned

Following an earlier consultation in January for patients registered at Ruddington’s Church House Surgery, it’s been revealed the next, proposed stage is to make our village practice part-time permanently. Pre-pandemic, the Shaw Street doctors was open from 8.30am to 6.30pm weekdays – except on Thursdays when it was 7am to 12.30pm. The latest plans from The Village Health Group (VHG) would see its hours halved to 8am until 1.00pm on weekdays on a permanent basis. ‘Back to Normal’ at Ruddington Library

Ruddington Library is reverting to its pre-pandemic opening times from today (5th October). Since March last year our library has been completely closed during three COVID-19 ‘lockdowns’ and then reduced to opening just two half days a week ever since. Whilst Tuesday’s hours had already been extended recently – with a second opportunity each week to visit on Friday afternoons – the Church Street premises are now also open again on Thursdays and Saturdays during the times shown below. It’s been confirmed that the former Sainsbury’s Convenience Store on Dutton’s Hill – most famously the historic home of Grice’s Electricals for over a century before that – will be reopening as a SPAR franchise after all.
