A Ruddington hairdressing salon, chiropodist, photography studio, joinery firm and electrician may all need to find new premises if a new housing application off Easthorpe Street gets the go ahead. A development of seven new homes there is being proposed by landowner Jeff Hind with plans drawn up by Carlton Design Architecture Limited. Digging Begins for “Lace Gardens”

Ten months after being granted planning permission by Rushcliffe Borough Council preparations have begun for the construction of another Ruddington housing development. “Lace Gardens” will see another 28 new homes built in Ruddington at the corner of Brookside Road and Woodhouse Gardens – with the demolition of the current Malmic Lace factory building and two existing houses on the site. Ruddington Parish Councillors have voted in favour of recommending just ONE additional site for potential Green Belt homes – off the A60 Mere Way roundabout (pictured). Asher Lane Housing Plans Refused

Ruddington residents can breathe a sigh of relief – for now – after Rushcliffe Borough Council rejected plans to build 175 new homes on our Green Belt north of Asher Lane. The proposals were lodged by land owners Space Foods Ltd back in January after a previous application for 250 houses on the same site was withdrawn just over two years earlier. Rushcliffe Borough Council says it’s received revised plans this week to build 175 new dwellings on Ruddington’s greenbelt north of Asher Lane. These have again been lodged by land owners Space Foods Ltd. It follows their first application just over two years ago for 250 houses on the same site. At that time a public meeting was held by Ruddington Parish Council who pro-actively supported villagers with objections to building there. There could soon be two rather striking new buildings in Ruddington if a state-of-the-art scheme for a former DIY shop site is given the go-ahead by Rushcliffe planners. H.A.
