The biennial charity event returns! Ruddington Open Gardens 2024 is on Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd June from 2pm until 6pm – so make sure you’ve got your ticket. A High Speed Train 40th anniversary event at Ruddington’s Great Central Railway has raised £1,350 for charity. Railway Children was presented with a cheque yesterday (Tuesday 6th December) by fundraisers from the 125 Group, the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) and East Midlands Trains. The cash was raised at a special event that took place at the Heritage Centre on the 19th of November where a visiting East Midlands Trains HST ran throughout the day to mark its 40th anniversary. Organisers of a BBC Children in Need “24 hour Spin Challenge” in Ruddington are celebrating raising £591.50 for the kids charity – so far! Scott Cawthan and Ryan Charlesworth (pictured) completed their gruelling challenge at midday today at The Project Body UK Gym and Wellness Centre on The Green after cycling through the night. Other cyclists joined in by doing 30 minute spin sessions alongside them – in exchange for a donation in the bucket for Pudsey.
