No Beer from the Pub!

In another blow to our hospitality venues, one of the new restrictions added by the Government in the third ‘National lockdown’ is that public houses in England can no longer serve takeaway alcohol from their premises. BREAKING NEWS – 8.00pm Monday 4th January 2021 In a sombre ‘live’ broadcast from Downing Street, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has just announced that a third national ‘lockdown’ in England is being introduced, in a new bid to bring the latest Coronavirus outbreak under control. New Year Honour for Ruddington Occupational Therapist

A community-spirited village resident says it’s “an incredible honour and privilege” to have been recognised in The Queen’s New Year Honours list for 2021. Kate Robertson, who has become very well known around Ruddington since she moved here from Newark in 1991 with her husband and three young children, will receive an MBE for ‘services to occupational therapy’. With Ruddington entering 2021 under ‘stay at home’ Tier 4 Coronavirus restrictions, at least unlimited outdoor exercise close to home is still permitted. Today’s Government announcement that Nottinghamshire, like most of the East Midlands, will move into England’s highest level of current Coronavirus restrictions from New Year’s Eve means that Ruddington will almost be back in ‘Lockdown’ for a third time. Ruddington Buses Under Tier 4

Following the announcement that Ruddington will be put into England’s ‘new’ highest level of COVID-19 restrictions to start 2021, our village’s main bus operator says the latest change will not alter the existing schedules of either its Navy 3 or Green 10 services.
