Public displays created and installed in our village by ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ – to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III – have been targeted for a second time. The imaginative and considerable efforts of numerous local knitters, pom-pom and tassle-makers, crocheters and sewists from the ‘Handmade in Rudd’ Facebook group and beyond have been widely praised and enjoyed. Get Ready for ‘The Big Sing’

It’s been rather a long wait, partly due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Ruddington’s much loved singing festival is finally back this month. A ‘Yarn Bomb’ Fit For a King

It’s only a month since their last ‘Ruddington Yarn Bomb’ for Easter, but our local knitters, pom pom and tassle makers, crocheters and sewists from the ‘Handmade in Rudd’ Facebook group and beyond have been working flat out, before and since, to create their latest display in time for The King’s Coronation. Guided Historical Walks

Theres a choice of two walk and talk events to find out the history of our village. Gavin Walker, curator of The Village Museum, will be your guide as you stroll around Ruddington on Bank Holiday Monday, 8th May. To discover more about the history of Ruddington you can just turn up outside St Peter’s Rooms at either 11am or 2pm. These are leisurely walks and will be around a mile long, usually taking 1.5 to 2 hours, and are FREE to attend.. The King’s Coronation: Community Picnic

You can join in historic celebrations for The King’s Coronation, in our village! Ruddington’s Community Picnic is part of ‘The Big Lunch’  – it ‘brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun.’ On Sunday 7th May residents can get together on the Village Green; starting with the St Peter’s Church morning service, then from 12-noon is ‘The Big Lunch’ community picnic. It’s almost six months since we brought you the disappointing news that the ‘Ruddington Big Sing’ would not be returning for 2022 after all – having been cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
