Celebrate! Coronation of King Charles III

You’re invited to a classical occasion to remember on Saturday 13th May at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church.

‘Long Live The King, Long Live The Choir!’ says the Ruddington & District Choral Society and the Ruddington Chamber Ensemble as they celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III – in the Choir’s 60th Anniversary year.

Pat Beale says: “An evening of England’s musical heritage by the two great composers of royal music and pageantry: Purcell & Handel.  Enjoy Purcell’s glorious “Come Ye Sons of Art” (the Birthday Ode for Queen Mary) and his sublime “Funeral Music for Queen Mary” – two works by arguably the greatest ever English composer which are part of the rich tapestry of English music and history. And, as a stirring and majestic finale, enjoy Handel’s great and much loved “Coronation Anthems” including “Zadok the Priest” a work sung at every Coronation since that of George II in 1727.”

Ticket cost £12 on the door. Also get yours in advance from Perkins Hardware or members can ring 07590 311 992.
