Third Olympics for Village Skater!
An ice dancer from Ruddington has secured her place on Team GB at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang after winning an Olympic qualifying competition this weekend! Penny Coomes and figure skating partner Nick Buckland, who hails from Wilford, built on their initial lead in the “Short Dance” section with victory in yesterday’s “Free Dance” at Oberstdorf in Germany – so lifting the Nebelhorn Trophy. Ruddington’s bus passengers are being warned of changes to their services during this weekend’s Robin Hood Marathon. Sunday’s Full and Half Marathons (24th September) will affect numerous routes including Nottingham City Transport’s (NCT’s) Navy 3 and Green 10/10C on their way to and from the city. This year, London Road will be closed in both directions at the start of the marathon and buses will not be able to serve Trent Bridge between 09:20 and 10:20 and are diverting via Lady Bay Bridge.
