On April 12th an extraordinary Ruddington Parish Council meeting was called in the wake of worries about the closure of Thomas’s Greengrocers – the latest of several long established independent traders here who’ve gone out of business or decided to shut up shop. The closure of Thomas’s Greengrocer’s in Ruddington seems to have prompted an unprecedented wave of concern for the future of our unique, village centre shops. That’s the NEW name for the former Bar Six on Dutton’s Hill! The contemporary drinking and dining venue has been extensively remodelled, refurbished and expanded onto TWO floors at number 6, Wilford Road. Work is now complete on the first phase of the new look bar and restaurant – which opened on schedule on Friday night (2nd March) despite challenges caused by the snow. The number of vacant seats on Ruddington Parish Council has risen to three – following the resignation this week of Flawford Ward Councillor, John Noble. He told RUDDINGTON.info that his decision to leave was purely due to time constraints and him being able to give the council the dedication required.
