Free Cycle Security Marking in Ruddington

Ruddington cyclists wishing to get their bikes marked usually have to travel to a coding session at Rushcliffe Arena. However, this weekend, it’s available right here! From 9am to 12noon on Saturday September 5th, Rushcliffe Borough Council ‘Community Safety Team’ and Nottinghamshire Police are hosting a stall at Ruddington Village Market. Cyclists can get their bikes security marked and registered with BikeRegister for FREE and also receive advice on crime prevention advice for burglary and vehicle crime. It’s been announced that Ruddington’s 2020 Christmas Market and Fayre has had to be called off due to continuing concerns about COVID-19. Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) took over the responsibility of organising our village’s biggest, annual, festive event from Ruddington Parish Council earlier this year – and had ambitious new plans to host gazebo stalls and street foods all along Church Street and High Street, along with further food, drink and makers stalls at multiple indoor venues around the village centre. Heritage Centre Reopens – But Without Trains

Directors at Great Central Railway (Nottingham) have announced that no vintage steam or diesel trains will be running from Ruddington until Easter 2021 at the earliest. Passenger services last ran from our heritage site during the February half-term before all trains were cancelled and the centre closed to visitors due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. This weekend Ruddington Village Market returned after a four month physical absence, and it was a huge success – with organisers, traders and visitors doing an outstanding job of relaunching as a ‘socially distanced’ market in its new location on the village green.
