As if the previously reported spate of crimes in our village isn’t enough, Rushcliffe Police have now revealed further thieving which was going on in Ruddington over Christmas! This time it’s someone stealing used cooking oil from the rear of Gino’s Italian Restaurant on Church Street – the most recent theft being at 5.05am on Thursday 27th December 2017. The current crimewave blighting the lives of residents and traders in Ruddington shows no sign of stopping – after a late night raid on Classic Cuts Hairdressing on the corner of High Street and Charles Street. The number of vacant seats on Ruddington Parish Council has risen to three – following the resignation this week of Flawford Ward Councillor, John Noble. It’s been revealed that one our key village access routes will need to be closed for MORE roadworks – despite already having been shut to traffic for over THREE MONTHS at the end of last summer! A Ruddington shop owner is appealing to anyone who may have more information to come forward after someone tried to break in just before Christmas. If you’re catching Nottingham City Transport‘s Navy 3 or Green 10 into or out of the City Centre early or late this weekend beware that overnight diversions are taking place. This month Ruddington remembers The Holocaust… The liberation of Auschwitz occurred on 27th January 1945 and this day is now commemorated each year with International Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD).  HMD remembers not just the millions of victims of the Nazis during World War II but also the victims of later genocides in Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur and Cambodia.
