The name of a contractor building new homes in our village has recently become “mud” for some residents and traders on a Ruddington estate! HTC Construction is currently erecting the first half-dozen houses of its “Lace Gardens” development – which will eventually see 28 new homes put up at the corner of Brookside Road and Woodhouse Gardens. Following the success of the inaugural event in the summer of 2016, it’s been revealed there’s to be a second “Ruddington Open Gardens” event in June this year – which organisers hope will be even bigger and better. Rushcliffe Police are reporting another burglary on the outskirts of Ruddington – at Wayte Court, off Landmere Lane – last night (Tuesday 23rd January). It happened between 5.15pm and 6.15pm when the intruder got in via a rear door. Officers say: “It is unknown how the offender gained entry. As regular readers will know, this is the fundraising group set up by James Peacock Infants School teachers Sally Squires and Jayne Henson inspired by their visit to Uganda in the Summer of 2016. Our Nottinghamshire Hospice and Honeycomb Christian Charity shops will soon have company – as an established national charity for vulnerable children and young people prepares to open an outlet in the village.
