Roundabout Now?
Construction of a new roundabout in Ruddington is finally set to begin after being delayed almost six months by a failure to consult properly with affected properties. Originally work was due to start on the 26th of July last year at the Wilford Road/Clifton Road junction and should have been completed by the end of the school summer holidays. Following a four week consultation Nottinghamshire County Council rubber-stamped their new parking and waiting restrictions at a Highways meeting in October. It’s emerged that work to build Ruddington’s new roundabout was halted just days before it was due to begin because of a failure to consult properly with affected properties. Construction was due to start today (Tuesday 26th July) at the Wilford Road/Clifton Road junction and should have been completed by the end of August. However Nottinghamshire County Council has now belatedly issued a consultation document to explain its proposals to “ensure the safe operation of the junction”.
