After celebrating its first anniversary in February 2020, and continuing as scheduled in March, Ruddington’s popular Village Market was then cancelled for April – until further notice – as the threat of COVID-19 Coronavirus loomed large in the UK. One of the many, regular events missing from our village calendar for the foreseeable future is Ruddington Village Market – which has now also been suspended during the UK lockdown to limit the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. Ruddington Scoops Community Group Award

The team behind the Ruddy Good Loyalty Card and Ruddington Village Market has just won the Celebrating Rushcliffe Award for ‘Community Group of the Year’ 2019. Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP), which only formed in April 2018, was recognised for galvanising village centre businesses into more initiatives to drive footfall to traders. When Nottingham legend Dave ‘The Cockleman’ Bartram dragged himself out in the pouring rain this morning to ply his trade at November’s Village Market, his visit turned out to be a little more rewarding than he’d expected! A hard working village community group, our newest high street shop and a major drugs development company in Ruddington are all in the running for one of this year’s Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards.
