Share the Spirit of Ruddington!

One of the many, regular events missing from our village calendar for the foreseeable future is Ruddington Village Market – which has now also been suspended during the UK lockdown to limit the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. The next one should have been this Saturday at The White Horse – also closed because of the pandemic.

However, Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP), whose volunteers usually organise the monthly event, say: “The spirit of Ruddington is amazing! The village has come together in an incredible way to help those isolated and in need during these challenging times. To celebrate this spirit, we’ve decided to give away a little prize!”

Courtesy of Ruddington’s The Bottle Top (at 2, High Street) and two other market regulars, they’re giving you chance to WIN:

🏆 A fruit & veg, sauce and chutney box from The Bottle Top
🏆 A cheese and sauce bundle from Feast and the Furious
🏆 A box of 8 brownies from The Beeston Brownie Co.

To enter, you’ll need to visit the Village Market Facebook page >>HERE<< and leave a comment on the prize draw post telling RVCP your own story of Ruddington community spirit – and so share some much needed positivity around our village!

You have until 11.59pm BST on Thursday 30th April 2020 to enter. One winner will then be drawn at random. Please note that the prize can only be delivered within the NG11 postcode area. You can view the full prize draw terms and conditions >>HERE<<.

Meantime, during the lockdown, The Bottle Top is continuing to serve our village with essential supplies, six days a week.

At a time when our village supermarkets are struggling to keep up with demand, this independent Ruddington business is offering villagers products such as plastic-free fresh fruit and veg, pantry staples such as pasta to weigh into your own containers, hand wash and other refills – even some toilet rolls, subject to availability! Of course, vital stay-at-home beer, cider and spirit supplies are plentiful, too.

Given the unprecedented situation, owners Alex and Anthony Preston have reduced their opening hours to 10am until 3pm, Monday to Saturday – which are now primarily for the collection of pre-ordered goods at their doorway. This is to enable them to trade as safely as possible, for both themselves and their customers. You can read more >>HERE<<.

Not only that, with the help of volunteers, for those most in need they are willing to deliver FREE to all NG11 postcodes for orders costing £10 or over. Stock is changing day by day so you’re invited to sign up for a daily email to your inbox listing what’s currently available – which now often includes fresh bread and free range eggs, too. Enquire and place an order by emailing thebottletopnotts@outlook.com. You can also text or phone 07946 190499 or get in touch via social media.
