The Green Memory Café at Rushcliffe Country Park is a new initiative in Ruddington for people living with memory loss and their carers. You can drop-in to the refurbished Meeting Room at the Visitor Centre on Wednesday 25th October, anytime between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Rushcliffe Dementia Project aim is for people to experience nature based activities, short walks or just to relax, socialise and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It’s been 13 years since Nottinghamshire County Council spent £350,000 on an accessibility scheme for Ruddington – which included installing cycle paths on Wilford Road and Clifton Road. The Wilford Road one in particular has been well used – by all but the most ‘serious’ cyclists (who it appears still prefer to ride on the road!). This Sunday, 30th July, Ruddington is marking the 40th anniversary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) vacating the area of our village which is now home to the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre and Rushcliffe Country Park.
