New Footbridge Opens

Allotment holders at Hareham Gardens in Ruddington are celebrating the completion of their new footbridge. It spans a brook and provides a step-free route between the two halves of the site – which houses a total of 62 plots. It needed to be suitable for wheelchair users – whilst the adults with learning difficulties who are supported by the THERA Trust to grow crops on one of the plots needed safe access to get between the car park and their plot. New Ruddington Skate Park Opens

Skate boarders, scooter riders and BMXers are celebrating the opening of Ruddington’s new skate park – funded by Rushcliffe Borough Council and supported by Skate Nottingham, Canvas Spaces and VIA East Midlands. The £210,000 concrete structure at Rushcliffe Country Park has been praised as another landmark facility – not just for our village but for the whole of Nottinghamshire. It’s now two and a half months since we said ‘goodbye to Shane’ at 15, Church Street – and that RUDDINGTON.info revealed that Elms Farm of Costock would soon be moving into Ruddington’s historic butchers’ premises. In January we revealed that a new Children’s Society shop was coming to Ruddington. We’re glad to report that it began trading TODAY (Friday 23rd March) from Number 2 Easthorpe Street. It was officially opened at 10.30am by the Mayor of Rushcliffe Councillor Barrie Cooper. This is our village’s THIRD charity shop, sited where Crusader Gifts‘ clearance shop – and previously Something Special – used to be. Our Nottinghamshire Hospice and Honeycomb Christian Charity shops will soon have company – as an established national charity for vulnerable children and young people prepares to open an outlet in the village.
