It’s been revealed shoppers will soon have another retail option in our village thanks to Ruddington Service Station. Owner EG Group has confirmed to RUDDINGTON.info that its recently expanded premises along Loughborough Road will soon become home to ‘ASDA On The Move’. This will replace the current SPAR shop. It’s not yet known whether the existing Greggs and Subway operating alongside it will be retained. Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. Latest Village Figures Revealed

As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. Thefts From Cars and Burglaries Increase Village Crime Rate

After a post-lockdown ‘spike’ in April, then a ‘quieter’ month in May, June again saw an increase in Ruddington crimes reported to Rushcliffe Police. Statistics just released show there were fifteen incidents logged by officers for our village during last month – which is 50% more than in the month before. Crime statistics for Ruddington, just released by Rushcliffe Police for April 2021, show a significant rise in reported offences when compared with the first three months of this year. The end of the strictest ‘lockdown’ measures here is thought to be a contributory factor – with more people now out and about and more village premises now open for business. Figures just released for February 2021 by Rushcliffe Police show that offences in Ruddington have dropped again – to the lowest level since RUDDINGTON.info first started reporting them on a monthly basis. Eagle-eyed drivers along Loughborough Road may have already spotted the further changes underway at our filling station – with a new Sainsbury’s outlet opening imminently. Fuel Thefts Dominate August Crime Stats

Rushcliffe Police report that, but for the continuing problems of drive-offs from Ruddington Service Station, last month would have been a very quiet month indeed for crime in our village. The figures are revealed in the Force’s statistics for August, just released. Out of just eleven reported offences during last month in Ruddington, five of them were motorists driving off from the Loughborough Road filling station without making payment.
