Cosy Traditional Christmas and See Santa!

Entrance for this festive day will be FREE at the Framework Knitters’ Museum and Parker’s Yard from 12-noon until 6pm on Saturday 17th December. This year’s ‘Cosy Traditional Christmas’ attractions are roasted chestnuts, Victorian mince pie making, a Christmas choir with a mini orchestra, Father Christmas and festive treats from The Split Screen Coffee Company. Ruddington Remembers

A new poppy display by the now famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ is among the ways our village is paying its respects this year to those who gave their lives to defend our country. Adorning the railings in front of St Peter’s Church, near the War Memorial, the Ninjas have had a little extra help creating this one. Parker’s Yard Café Plans

The Parker’s Yard Café at our Framework Knitters’ Museum (FKM) has submitted an application to Rushcliffe Borough Council for an alcohol licence on its premises. Run by Ruddington residents Jennifer Walker and Mike Gaunt, their coffee shop was launched in July (2022) within the recent museum extension and gardens – formerly ‘Gunn Cottage’. Along with the FKM’s gift shop and its Old Chapel, this hospitality area of our internationally famous tourist attraction is a place villagers and visitors can access without having to pay the museum entrance fee. This latest burst of creative, knitted activity has just hit our village centre for the summer – courtesy of the now infamous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’. Platinum Jubilee Village Events

Come and celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s record breaking reign – starts today Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.  To mark the Platinum Jubilee our village has been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays. The Green will be home to beacon lighting, a tree-planting ceremony and a community picnic, followed by games and live music, for all to enjoy. Cosy Christmas FKM

Fancy a unique festive family fun event at the Framework Knitters’ Museum? ‘A Cosy Cottage Christmas’ will be between 3pm and 7pm on December 18th. Ruddington’s Jubilee Banner

The impressive result of months of planning and knitting was revealed today – as Ruddington prepares to celebrate the long Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend in style. The finished, knitted banner was hoisted up outside The Framework Knitters’ Museum on Chapel Street this lunchtime (Friday 27th May), watched by onlookers – some of whom are actually featured within the stitching of the giant artwork created by textile artist Marie Jones!
