Mystery surrounds the identity of the kind-hearted benefactor, or benefactors, who’ve spread some welcome, festive cheer to numerous households in our area over the Christmas period. If so, you needn’t be! Ruddington Baptist Church is hosting a Christmas Day dinner for people who would otherwise be alone on December the 25th. The gift of a chicken, goat, sheep or cow to help families in Uganda become self-sufficient is the latest initiative from ‘The Mustard Seed Project’. This is the Ruddington fundraising group set up by James Peacock Infants School teachers Sally Squires and Jayne Henson inspired by their visit to Uganda in the Summer of 2016 which “taught us that a tiny seed can produce amazing results”. Ruddington’s 2016 Christmas Fayre held on Saturday the 3rd of December has been hailed another success by most of the visitors and village businesses involved.
