Construction machinery was left without power and speed safety signs went dark after thieves struck again in our area at the weekend. Rushcliffe Police are still on the lookout for the voltage-loving villains who stole several batteries from equipment being used in the works on Flawforth Lane in Ruddington overnight on Sunday 22nd October. Elderly and vulnerable residents in Ruddington are being urged to be vigilant after a spate of distraction burglaries in the area. Nottinghamshire Police officers are advising them not to answer the door to any unexpected callers and to report anything suspicious. Rushcliffe Police are warning specifically of a rogue trader in Ruddington reported for demanding a large sum of cash for carrying out unnecessary remedial work. Threat to Village Cashpoints

Police are asking villagers to keep our eyes peeled for a forklift truck stolen this week – fearing it may be used to commit cashpoint crime. It follows a spate of incidents around the area when such a vehicle has been utilised by crooks to rip ATMs from the outside walls of shops to try to steal the money. Drivers who park in our village centre are being reminded of the strict one-way system through the car park! Rushcliffe Police are reporting another spate of thefts from vehicles in their patch over the last two days – THREE of them in Ruddington. These latest incidents took place at Woodhouse Gardens – and in all three cases there were no signs of forced entry. Duo Jailed after Ruddington Burglary

Two men who were spotted acting suspiciously by an off-duty Nottinghamshire Police Community Support Officer following a burglary in Ruddington have been put behind bars. Robert Sisson, 28, and Roy Sisson, 38, both of Bridgefarm Lane, Clifton, were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court today (Wednesday 9th August) having previously pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods. Beware Techie Transit Tool Thieves

Police have issued a warning that there have been several overnight thefts of work tools, specifically from Ford Transit vans, reported in Ruddington. Vans targeted this week were on Bladon Road , Upper Canaan and Peacock Close. Dog Poisoning Fear in Rushcliffe Country Park

There are concerns there may still be a hidden danger to dogs and other animals in our Country Park after slug pellets wrapped in bacon were found there. It’s especially concerning as summer weekends are a peak time for dog owners to take their pets to enjoy facilities such as Coppers’ Dog Activity Trail (pictured). Four Ruddington Arrests Following Bulwell Burglary

A man and three boys have been arrested in connection with a burglary following a pursuit by Nottinghamshire Police this lunchtime. A statement says they were detained by officers at Ruddington Grange Golf Club after being followed a short distance from the Nottingham Knight roundabout at around 12.15pm today (Monday the 3rd of July). A vehicle, which was taken following a burglary in Stock Well, in Bulwell, just before 5.30am this morning, was also recovered.
