A unique and musical Christmas commercial featuring staff from a dozen of Ruddington’s High Street retailers singing on location in tandem with Ruddington Community Choir – the first of its kind for our village – premiered today (Saturday 1st December) during the annual Christmas Fayre! Framework Knitters’ Museum wins National Lottery Funding

Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum has received initial National Lottery support for a new project called ‘A Right Good Yarn’. Made possible by National Lottery players, the project aims to expand the museum into an adjacent property called ‘Gunn Cottage’, purchased in 2013, and redevelop the existing space. The monies will also allow vital conservation and renovation works to take place. “The Beast” Hits Ruddington!

After having escaped the worst impacts of the bad weather sweeping the UK earlier this week, Ruddington has seen the heaviest snowfall of the winter during the past 24 hours – thanks to the effects of the so-called “Beast From The East”. Villagers awoke to a blanket of around three inches of drifting snow this morning – accompanied by icy north-easterly winds. Getting Set for Uganda

2018 is certainly shaping up to be a big year for Ruddington’s Mustard Seed Project! As regular readers will know, this is the fundraising group set up by James Peacock Infants School teachers Sally Squires and Jayne Henson inspired by their visit to Uganda in the Summer of 2016. Mystery surrounds the identity of the kind-hearted benefactor, or benefactors, who’ve spread some welcome, festive cheer to numerous households in our area over the Christmas period. Envelopes marked “R.A.K. Random Act of Kindness” landed in letterboxes around Ruddington, Clifton and Silverdale – each containing £100! However the handwriting on the front appears different on some of them – suggesting perhaps more than one person was involved. It will close at 1pm on Saturday (23rd December) and not re-open again until 9am on Saturday 17th February 2018.
