The ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ are appealing for villagers’ help after their knitted Royal Balcony scene was ripped off the railings of St Peter’s Church last night (Sunday 29th May)*. *GOOD NEWS – UPDATE BELOW! The display was one of dozens meticulously crafted and put in place recently around our village in a ‘Yarn Bomb’ for residents and visitors to enjoy during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Platinum Jubilee Yarn Bomb!

Eagle-eyed Ruddingtonians will already have spotted the appearance of some new, knitted creations around our village – courtesy of the now famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’. Following a similar ‘Yarn Bomb’ at Christmas, and one or two changing pillar box toppers outside the Co-op before and after that, marking topical events, the ‘Ninjas’ have been very busy getting ready to celebrate the long Queen’s ‘Platinum Jubilee’ weekend next month. ‘Ruddy Kind Acts’ Initiative Launches

For the past few Christmases, residents of Ruddington have benefitted from ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ – where a mystery benefactor and his helpers have posted hundreds of envelopes marked ‘R.A.K’, each containing £100 in cash to lucky local recipients in our village, Clifton and Silverdale. Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ Festive Surprise!

Visitors to Ruddington village centre are being treated to an array of amazing, knitted creations this Christmas after an unexpected ‘yarn bomb’ added a new dimension to our more conventional festive decorations.
