Almost two years after the last Ruddington Makers’ Night, in December 2019, this much loved arts and crafts evening across our village is set to return this September. Saturday April 3rd sees the return of our much loved Ruddington Village Market on The Green. After a three month hiatus, the market is back on Easter Saturday with 40 essential traders selling food and drinks in line with current lockdown guidelines. ‘Handmade in Rudd’

That’s the name of a new Facebook Group specifically for makers and buyers of local, handmade items in our village. It’s been set up both for the benefit of those who live in Ruddington, and produce homemade items themselves, and for residents who like to buy handmade products whilst shopping locally at the same time. Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced that the popular event will be put on hold until April 3rd – Easter Saturday. The difficult decision by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) has been made on COVID-19 safety grounds following the recent surge in cases of the new variant Coronavirus which has recently led to a third national ‘lockdown’. £5K Funding Boost for Village Market

As hundreds of visitors flocked to today’s festive Ruddington Village Market, its volunteer organisers learned they’d won a grant from Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) to make it even better next year! Another Ruddington Power Cut!

Essential shops and businesses in our village centre working through this second ‘lockdown’ were among those left without electricity early this afternoon when there was yet another major power outage.* Those relying on mains power in order to continue their work had to sit out the interruption to their supplies, which happened at around a quarter to two – also triggering alarms in some High Street premises.
