Helping Survivors of Domestic Abuse

A free training course is being held this week in Ruddington to help our community support survivors of domestic violence. It’s one of a series of similar sessions across Rushcliffe and is taking place at 6pm on Friday 25th February in St Peter’s Rooms. A military veteran, who is now serving on Ruddington Parish Council, is welcoming a new online resource which supports our local Armed Forces community. Nottinghamshire County Council has just unveiled an accessible page added to its website called ‘The Armed Forces Hub’. Free School Holiday Meals to Continue

Ruddington’s schools are welcoming the announcement by Nottinghamshire County Council that it will continue to fund Free School Meals for the October half-term and over two weeks at Christmas. This means that village schoolchildren will be among more than 25,000 across the county who will receive 250,000 meals during the October break. Wendy’s Walkers’ Mighty Hike for Charity

Staff from a Ruddington pharmacy are prescribing themselves fresh air and exercise this summer as they fundraise for a leading cancer charity. N.B. This walk has now been postponed due to continuing Coronavirus restrictions and will be rescheduled for July 2022. Five employees from Evans Pharmacy on Charles Street are taking part in the ‘Peak District Mighty Hike 2021’ on Saturday July 24th.
