After travel restrictions due to COVID-19 last year thwarted Santa’s plans to do his usual pre-Christmas visit to our village, Father Christmas has announced he will be doing two tours of Ruddington this year – starting TODAY! As last year, from 11am to 5pm this Friday (December 10th) a giant, inflatable Santa has replaced the big man in the Rushcliffe Rotary Club‘s fundraising sleigh on Church Street, near the Co-op (top photo), for a static collection. Ruddington’s heritage railway has confirmed it will continue with the rest of its planned autumn and winter events as scheduled. This follows the sudden cancellation of the second half of the much publicised “Superhero Weekend” at its Mere Way site yesterday (Sun 29th October).
