Late May Bank Holiday Buses

With Monday 25th May being another Bank Holiday, Nottingham City Transport is reminding passengers that the continuing COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ means its Green 10 buses should still only be used by key workers to and from our village – or by people needing to use public transport to Ruddington’s shops to buy essential supplies or for medical requirements. The reduced ‘core’ timetable NCT is currently operating will also apply on this date. If you’ll be changing buses onto the Medilink service, the company confirms these buses will also still run on May 25th. However, the operator’s Call…

Following the Prime Minister’s latest announcement that people who cannot work from home should now try to go back to their jobs, Ruddington’s main bus provider has issued a statement to clarify the current situation on its services. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) is currently operating a temporary, “core” timetable on our village Green 10 route (which can be found >>HERE<<). Although, in England, the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths has fallen, the Government is continuing to tell people to avoid using public transport whilst ever the danger of catching Coronavirus remains…

Please Keep Your Social Distance!

When socialising, handshakes and friendly hugs are such a normal part of most Ruddingtonians’ lives, the seismic shift required in most aspects of our daily behaviour during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic is certainly creating some challenges. Until a few weeks’ ago no one even knew what ‘social distancing’ was, yet humans across the planet are now being required to do it – to minimise the risk of them becoming infected or infecting others. The seriousness of the situation was reflected in Boris Johnson’s shutdown – then lockdown – of our everyday…

Ruddington Businesses Still at Your Service!

Boris Johnson’s Monday night announcement that all high street shops selling ‘non-essential’ goods must stop trading straight away, as part of the Government’s ever tightening controls to contain the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, has obviously had a huge extra impact on our normally thriving village. Our pubs, cafés and restaurants had already been forced to close last Friday – but some initially launched takeaway menus. Even with the latest movement restrictions, the Government says selling takeaway food is still acceptable so long as social distancing measures are in place. However, most…

Rushcliffe Borough Council has has now sealed off the play area at Rushcliffe Country Park until further notice. New Double Yellow Lines for Business Park

Parking will be prohibited along at least one side of the road right around Ruddington’s Business Park if plans by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) get the go-ahead. Extensive, new Double Yellow Lines for Mere Way (main photo) and The Avenue are being proposed after numerous requests to NCC to address issues with obstructive parking there. The Council says ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions should improve access along the route – especially for larger vehicles including NCT’s Green 10C/10X buses. Additionally, it is proposing further Double Yellow Lines along parts of Camelot…
