The Visitor Centre at Rushcliffe Country Park was the venue for another recent gathering on Rushcliffe Social Prescribing team’s ‘Friendship Calendar’ – aimed at engaging with local people to tackle social isolation. Welcome Boost to Coffee Club’s Coffers
A weekly, Ruddington coffee club which helps to reduce loneliness and social isolation amongst over 55s, has received support from a ‘Reach Rushcliffe’ grant, enabling the group to grow and flourish. Older villagers are invited to meet new people and enjoy refreshments in a relaxed and friendly setting at the ‘Wednesday Morning Coffee Club’ in St Peter’s Rooms – which also provides a warm space to vulnerable residents in a safe environment. A group that manages a Ruddington allotment has received vital funding from ‘Reach Rushcliffe’ to help redevelop their gardening space to aid local residents’ health and mental wellbeing. The Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Group run a plot at the ‘Paradise Gardens’ allotments off Wilford Road which has received the funds to assist with the purchase of a summer house, planters, plants, soil and paving to give the site more accessibility.
