Future of Navy 3 Bus Secure!

Ruddington’s main transport operator has confirmed the changes it made to our Navy 3 bus service in January have been sufficient to safeguard the route. Timetable reductions were introduced ‘reluctantly’ earlier this year by Nottingham City Transport after the multi-award winning bus company revealed it had been running these services at a loss ever since taking over the old ‘Ruddington Connection’ route just over three years’ earlier. It was in November 2015 that Trent Barton announced it was to withdraw its historic bus service from the City to Clifton via Wilford…

Revised Fares on NCT Buses

Passengers who use Ruddington’s Navy 3 or Green 10 services will generally be paying a little more for their journeys from the end of this month. Nottingham City Transport has announced it will be increasing some bus fares from Sunday March 31st. The company points out it is the first rise in its prices for a year (the last increase was on March 25th 2018) but says they are necessary to cover above inflationary increases in operating costs – as well as to allow investment over the next 12 months in…

Navy 3 Bus Service Changes

Ruddington’s bus users are being reminded that timetable revisions to Nottingham City Transport‘s Clifton services begin this Sunday, 27th January, and these will have an impact for passengers who currently catch the Navy 3 in and out of our village. As we reported in December, there had been months of speculation in Ruddington that this route would be axed altogether due to insufficient passenger numbers – which would leave Wilford Road without any bus service at all and Clifton Road without a bus into the City. In fact, the Navy 3 has been…

Ruddington’s Navy 3 Bus To Continue

Nottingham City Transport and Nottingham City Council have announced changes to Clifton bus services next month but have revealed their Navy 3 via Ruddington will continue to operate – albeit to a reduced timetable. The good news for village residents who rely on the service comes after months of speculation that the route could be axed altogether due to insufficient passenger numbers – leaving Wilford Road without any bus service at all and Clifton Road without a bus into the City. This would have been the case just over three…

Three Golds for Nottingham City Transport!

Ruddington’s main public transport operator is celebrating yet again – after receiving no less than THREE “Gold” UK Bus Awards, including the ‘Environment Award’. Of course, the benefits of ‘Green NCT – Home of the World’s Largest Fleet of Bio-Gas Double Deckers’ have been felt directly in our village – since Nottingham City Transport (NCT) replaced all our Green 10 buses with these brand new, environmentally friendly vehicles last year. They use fuel produced from waste through anaerobic digestion. These buses prevent harmful pollutants being emitted into the atmosphere from landfill and have an almost neutral well-to-wheel…
