Rushcliffe Police have just released their Ruddington crime statistics for last month. The figures show that only eight incidents were reported to them from our village via 101 and online from 1st March to 31st March 2022. Two of our new housing developments were targeted again, in addition to thefts from unattended vehicles, a business burglary and drivers failing to pay for their fuel at Ruddington’s filling station. Eagle-eyed travellers entering Ruddington this week may already have spotted a subtle new addition to our village gateway signs – indicating that things should be starting to get back to normal. Village Market Cancelled Until Easter

Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced that the popular event will be put on hold until April 3rd – Easter Saturday. The difficult decision by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) has been made on COVID-19 safety grounds following the recent surge in cases of the new variant Coronavirus which has recently led to a third national ‘lockdown’. After being cancelled last November (during the previous ‘lockdown’) the market did take place again in December under Nottinghamshire’s Tier 3 restrictions. After around two thousand people flocked to the inaugural Ruddington Village Market at The White Horse Inn a month ago, organisers are keeping their fingers crossed that this Saturday’s follow-up will be just as popular.
