Organised by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP), Ruddington Village Market is held on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 2pm. Since it was launched in February 2019, the open market has become a magnet for shoppers from our village as well as much further afield. There’s a large variety of stalls on The Green plus a chance to visit Ruddington’s many local shops and retailers. Whilst our schools are out for the big holiday it’s hoped less traffic will mean fewer delays for Ruddington’s long-suffering motorists. However, there are some scheduled roadworks going on which will inevitably still cause inconvenience and longer journey times. First up, St John’s Road (pictured above) – a popular Ruddington shortcut – is closed to traffic from July 24th to 28th for National Grid work (as shown below), therefore motorists from Wilford Road will need to travel via the village centre to get into the estate or out onto Loughborough Road, and vice-versa.*…

Held on the first Saturday of each month is Ruddington Village Market. It’s a super summer shopping experience. There’s always a huge variety of stalls on The Green. Market day is also a great chance to stroll around and visit many of Ruddington’s local shops, too. It’s been announced that Ruddington’s 2020 Christmas Market and Fayre has had to be called off due to continuing concerns about COVID-19. Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) took over the responsibility of organising our village’s biggest, annual, festive event from Ruddington Parish Council earlier this year – and had ambitious new plans to host gazebo stalls and street foods all along Church Street and High Street, along with further food, drink and makers stalls at multiple indoor venues around the village centre. Ruddington’s popular, monthly market will be back this July – after being suspended for the past three months due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. Now that Government ‘lockdown’ restrictions are being eased, its organisers Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) have decided it will be safe and practical to restart Ruddington Village Market on Saturday July 4th – albeit initially with fewer stalls and a new location to enable ‘social distancing’ at the event.
