In an era of shop closures and pessimism there’s finally a bit of welcome business news for Ruddington… Firstly, we can confirm that Philo’s Deli is to take over the empty shop unit at 1A, Church Street (pictured above right) recently vacated by Tanners. Country Park Café Consultation

Rushcliffe Borough Council has launched a new survey asking if locals and visitors would like to see a dedicated café at Ruddington’s Country Park. It wants you to have YOUR say on whether you think it’s a good idea – AND whether you’d use it? Since 2015 the council has been working with Friends of Rushcliffe Country Park (FoRCP), Franklin Ellis Architects and The University of Nottingham on a proposal to refurbish and upgrade the existing building – and perhaps to extend it to create a permanent new café. The Black Cat is Coming!

Perhaps so far only Mathew’s Café & Deli regulars have spotted the new face in charge at 24D High Street? But soon the popular Ruddington venue will also have a striking new name and an updated menu.
