Council to Fund Half Term School Meals

Ruddington businesses, community groups and individuals are welcoming Nottinghamshire County Council’s announcement that it will provide the necessary funding for free school meals over this half term. As we reported on Saturday, many in our village, including St Peter’s Junior School Headteacher Michael Bradley, were critical of the Government after a Commons bid to extend free school meal vouchers to holidays during the COVID-19 pandemic was rejected by MPs last week. Hospitality Takes Another Hit as Ruddington Goes ‘Tier 2’

Ruddington businesses are weighing up the impact of new restrictions which have been set out by the Government today to tackle the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in Nottinghamshire. A popular Ruddington pub has shut temporarily after a member of its staff tested positive for COVID-19 this morning (Sunday 11th October). A statement has been issued by The Victoria Tavern, on Wilford Road, which says: “We have, therefore, decided to close today in order to take an opportunity to deep clean all areas. ‘Fiver Fest’ Returns to Ruddington

Once again traders in Ruddington are joining in with ‘The Totally Locally Fiver Fest’. Plans drawn up by Via East Midlands to implement a temporary one-way system in Ruddington village centre, with the aim of improving traffic flow and providing extra parking, have been rejected by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). COVID Confusion Leads to Ruddington Pub Fine

A misunderstanding of the latest COVID-19 rules has led to a public house in Ruddington receiving a £1,000 fixed penalty notice for breaching current guidelines. It’s after The White Horse Inn accepted a booking with a total of 34 people for a birthday celebration on September 26th – having initially refused an enquiry to host 72 at the event.
