Travellers Evicted – Again – Finally!

First of all, it was due to be at 8 o’clock this morning (Monday 13th August) – a time which quickly slipped to 3pm due to enforcement availability issues. Travellers on Sellors’ Field Evicted

Families from the travelling community, who unexpectedly made Ruddington their home recently, have now officially been told to leave. Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) says an eviction notice was served upon the travellers today by the legal services firm it has employed to handle this matter. Gino’s Cooking Oil Crook Convicted

A man arrested on suspicion of stealing cooking oil from Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Ruddington just before Christmas has been convicted at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on two charges of theft. Rushcliffe Police released a CCTV image (right) of the person they believed to be responsible after one of the incidents at the rear of the Church Street premises at 5.05am on Thursday 27th December 2017. The man found guilty of the used oil thefts is 52 year-old Errol Kus from Grantham. Mr Kus was given a conditional discharge of six months for both offences.…

Drop in Reported Crime During May

Although of no consolation to those who were targeted, most Ruddington residents and traders will be relieved to hear there’s been a slight reduction in reported crime during the past month. Rushcliffe Police have listed just 16 offences in our village – down from 20 the month before. In total there were five burglaries, two vehicles stolen and four thefts from vehicles – with the rest of the incidents relating to criminal damage, anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug use. Criminals Target Apotheka

Police are investigating after a new restaurant & café-bar in Ruddington, which only began trading in March, was raided by thieves over the weekend. “Apotheka”, at 6 Wilford Road, was broken into early on Sunday morning, with a quantity of cash and drinks stolen. The venue is now run by Jack Robson – who originally worked for McArtney’s Catering before buying out the company in 2015 and then acquiring the former “Bar Six” business from John Noble and Lucy Would in November last year. Car Crooks Strike Again!

Rushcliffe Police are urging us to ensure our homes are secure after another burglary and car theft in Ruddington. They say this latest crime took place over the Bank Holiday – sometime between 2pm on Sunday (6th May) and 3.45pm yesterday. The offender smashed a side double glazed door to gain entry to a house on Loughborough Road. Subsequently a dark grey Citroen Picasso was stolen using keys found in the property.
