Christmas & New Year Buses

Ruddington’s main public transport operator has announced its expected levels of service over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) says these are based on current Government restrictions, guidance and funding, so they may be revised if there is a change to any of these in the meantime. The only days Ruddington will see no buses at all are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. A Saturday service will run on the Navy 3 and Green 10 during most weekdays with a special daytime Boxing Day timetable planned for…

Ruddington’s Buses During Second ‘Lockdown’

As we come under a second national ‘lockdown’ in England, Ruddington’s main bus operator says – this time around – both its Navy 3 and Green 10 village services will continue to run to their usual schedules. Back in March, when the original raft of COVID-19 instructions asked us to avoid all travel and stay at home during the Coronavirus pandemic, Nottingham City Transport reduced all its timetables to just ‘core services’ for essential workers. However this time, from November 5th 2020 the operator says it is continuing to operate all its advertised services…

Ruddington’s Buses Under Tier 3

Our main village bus provider says normal service will continue on its Navy 3 and Green 10 buses despite Rushcliffe and the City of Nottingham being moved into the highest Government level of Coronavirus restrictions this week. From one minute past midnight on Thursday 29th October 2020, when Ruddington comes under Tier 3 COVID-19 rules, Nottingham City Transport advises that people can continue to travel to venues and amenities which are open – such as work, education and retail.  Therefore the company does not intend to make any changes to service…

We reported back in July that Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has achieved Visit Britain’s official industry standard, which confirms that it is following industry and Government guidance on COVID-19, social distancing and cleanliness. The Department for Transport (DfT) has just updated its Safer Travel Guidance for Passengers and NCT…

Why is Ruddington so Popular for Home Buyers Right Now?

Benwell Daykin reported last month that the property market is currently going through somewhat of a boom. Since then, many national news outlets have also reported some of the biggest property price growth seen in over five years. At our estate agency, demand for Ruddington property has always been high. However, we are seeing a huge increase in enquiries for property in the village and the surrounding areas. But why is this? The freeze on stamp duty is certainly playing its part, with more and more families taking the opportunity…

The Property Market is Booming!

Following unprecedented times, the Nottinghamshire property market currently finds itself in somewhat of a boom says Benwell Daykin. Many predicted we would experience a dip in house prices with fewer sales and purchases following the Coronavirus lockdown. In fact, the opposite has happened! Demand for a new home is currently outstripping supply. Viewing numbers have increased on each available property and with more buyers brings more offers.  High competition means property prices are driven up, as buyers compete with each other to secure their dream home. In July 2020, Rightmove…

Welcome Back on the Buses!

After the Prime Minister’s announcement this morning (17th July 2020), about using public transport for all journeys, Nottingham City Transport (NCT) says it looks forward to welcoming us back on board. As COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions continue to be eased, Boris Johnson has said it’s now okay to catch a bus for any journey, not just for essential travel. With both Ruddington’s Navy 3 and Green 10 services now back to a full timetable that means a leisure trip by bus for a #RuddyGoodDayOut is back on the agenda! However, passengers…

NCT is “Good to Go!”

Ruddington’s main bus operator has achieved Visit Britain’s official industry standard, which confirms it’s following industry and Government guidance on COVID-19, ‘social distancing’ and cleanliness. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) runs our village’s frequent and friendly Navy 3 and Green 10 services – which returned to a full timetable on June 28th – and has now officially been awarded “Good to Go!” status. This new standard is a sign of businesses being able to demonstrate that they are adhering to the COVID-19 guidance issued by the government for their sector, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment…

The Return of Ruddington’s Navy 3 and Green 10C/10X

When the Government instructed us to ‘Stay at Home’ to ‘Save Lives’ and ‘Protect the NHS’ at the start of the Coronavirus ‘lockdown’ in March, bus operators quickly put their services on a much reduced ‘core’ timetable – with public transport being deemed for ‘essential travel’ only. As movement restrictions are gradually eased, and more people return to work, the vast majority of Nottingham City Transport (NCT) buses are back to their former timetable from Sunday June 28th 2020. For Ruddington, the reinstatement of the Navy 3 service means residents, shoppers and workers can…
