Drivers are being reminded that Wilford Road in Ruddington is to be shut for a whole week this August as highway contractors finish constructing the new junction into the Bloor Homes ‘Fairham Green’ development.
The current temporary traffic lights will be swapped for a total road closure from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th August inclusive whilst these roadworks are carried out, meaning (except in an emergency) no vehicular traffic will be allowed through. However, it’s understood the shared footway will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists throughout.
Another casualty of the road closure is Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 bus. The operator has decided it will not operate this service to Ruddington at all during this period. Instead, the buses will carry straight on to Clifton, as detailed on the bus stop notices.
As previously reported, plans to shut Flawforth Lane in connection with Linden Homes‘ ‘Blacksmith’s Green’ development for three weeks in August have been shelved. However, it’s now thought a road closure might still be required here in October for water main connection work to take place. Meantime, two-way traffic lights on Flawforth Lane have become 3-way at the Flawforth Avenue junction – causing significant delays at peak times and impacting traffic flow on Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road.
Temporary traffic lights will also be returning to the Loughborough Road/Mere Way junction, from September 6th to 15th! This is for work by Severn Trent in connection with the William Davis Homes development. RUDDINGTON.info will confirm full details once we receive them.
