A brand new knitted postbox topper and poppy wreath made by the famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ are among the ways our village is paying its respects this year to those who gave their lives to defend our country. Happy Valentine’s Day!

St Valentine is the latest subject to receive the attention of talented creatives in and around our village for their current ‘Ruddington Yarn Bomb’. Whilst the pillar box topper on Church Street gets changed quite frequently, ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ pulled out all the stops again in preparation for Valentine’s Day 2023 by knitting and crocheting romantically themed pieces to adorn other village centre locations, too. A new poppy display by the now famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ is among the ways our village is paying its respects this year to those who gave their lives to defend our country. Adorning the railings in front of St Peter’s Church, near the War Memorial, the Ninjas have had a little extra help creating this one. Ruddington’s Seaside Yarn Bomb!

This latest burst of creative, knitted activity has just hit our village centre for the summer – courtesy of the now infamous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’. The ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ are appealing for villagers’ help after their knitted Royal Balcony scene was ripped off the railings of St Peter’s Church last night (Sunday 29th May)*. *GOOD NEWS – UPDATE BELOW! The display was one of dozens meticulously crafted and put in place recently around our village in a ‘Yarn Bomb’ for residents and visitors to enjoy during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Eagle-eyed Ruddingtonians will already have spotted the appearance of some new, knitted creations around our village – courtesy of the now famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’. Following a similar ‘Yarn Bomb’ at Christmas, and one or two changing pillar box toppers outside the Co-op before and after that, marking topical events, the ‘Ninjas’ have been very busy getting ready to celebrate the long Queen’s ‘Platinum Jubilee’ weekend next month.
