‘Help My Street’ Reaches Ruddington

A new online platform – which aims to make both becoming a volunteer and requesting help in Ruddington a simple, safe and effective process – is being launched this weekend. Free Cycle Security Marking in Ruddington

Ruddington cyclists wishing to get their bikes marked usually have to travel to a coding session at Rushcliffe Arena. However, this weekend, it’s available right here! From 9am to 12noon on Saturday September 5th, Rushcliffe Borough Council ‘Community Safety Team’ and Nottinghamshire Police are hosting a stall at Ruddington Village Market. Cyclists can get their bikes security marked and registered with BikeRegister for FREE and also receive advice on crime prevention advice for burglary and vehicle crime. It’s been announced that Ruddington’s 2020 Christmas Market and Fayre has had to be called off due to continuing concerns about COVID-19. Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) took over the responsibility of organising our village’s biggest, annual, festive event from Ruddington Parish Council earlier this year – and had ambitious new plans to host gazebo stalls and street foods all along Church Street and High Street, along with further food, drink and makers stalls at multiple indoor venues around the village centre. The Village Market Returns!

Ruddington’s popular, monthly market will be back this July – after being suspended for the past three months due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. Now that Government ‘lockdown’ restrictions are being eased, its organisers Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) have decided it will be safe and practical to restart Ruddington Village Market on Saturday July 4th – albeit initially with fewer stalls and a new location to enable ‘social distancing’ at the event.
