Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. More Smashed Windows As Latest Crime Stats Revealed

A relatively quiet month for reported crime in Ruddington ended disappointingly when more windows were smashed in our village centre during Hallowe’en night ‘celebrations’. The damage (above) to Gino’s Ristorante on Sunday October 31st was reported the following day – with owner Guglielmo Frederico ‘Fred’ Formosa giving his CCTV footage of the incident to Police, who are now investigating. Police Appeal Following Ruddington Distraction Burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a distraction burglary in our village. It’s after a man targeted a vulnerable woman on Dunblane Road in Ruddington and stole money from her. The incident happened on Wednesday (26 February 2020) at around 6.45pm. Fuel Thefts Dominate August Crime Stats

Rushcliffe Police report that, but for the continuing problems of drive-offs from Ruddington Service Station, last month would have been a very quiet month indeed for crime in our village. The figures are revealed in the Force’s statistics for August, just released. Out of just eleven reported offences during last month in Ruddington, five of them were motorists driving off from the Loughborough Road filling station without making payment. More Ruddington Vehicle Break-ins

Rushcliffe Police are reporting another spate of thefts from vehicles in their patch over the last two days – THREE of them in Ruddington. These latest incidents took place at Woodhouse Gardens – and in all three cases there were no signs of forced entry. It seems the thieves may have again been targeting vulnerable vehicles – as was the case on Bladon Road, Upper Canaan and Peacock Close in July.
